3. เพื่อให้นักเรียนสามารถลากเส้นตามทิศทางได้ถูกต้อง

การบอกทิศทาง ( direction )

การบอกทิศทาง  (Asking for Directions)

    ในการบอกทิศทางนั้น ต้องคำนึงถึงความถูกต้องของเส้นทางและการเดินทางที่สะดวกเพื่อให้ผู้ถามไม่สับสนหรือหลงเส้นทาง เลือกใช้ประโยคที่กระชับและเหมาะสม

สำนวนการถามทิศทางที่นิยมใช้มีดังนี้ Excuse me, can  you  tell  me  how  to  get  to the museum, please? (ขอโทษครับ กรุณาบอกทางไปพิพิธภัณฑ์หน่อยครับ) Could you tell me the way to the supermarket, please? (กรุณาช่วยบอกทางไปห้างสรรพสินค้าหน่อยครับ

Excuse me, can/could you give me direction to the university, please?
(ขอโทษครับ กรุณาช่วยบอกทางไปมหาวิทยาลัยหน่อยครับ)

นอกจากนี้ยังมีสำนวนอื่นๆ อีก เช่น Can/Could  you tell me where .....  is? Can/Could you direct me to....., please? Excuse me. I’m looking for..... . Is this the way to.....? เป็นสำนวนที่ใช้ถามในกรณีที่ผู้ถามต้องการถามเพื่อให้แน่ใจว่า  กำลังเดินไปตามทิศทาง ที่ถูกต้อง  เช่น

Is the way to the supermarket?
(นี่เป็นทางไปห้างสรรพสินค้าใช่ไหมครับ)

การบอกทิศทาง  สามารถใช้ได้หลายสำนวน  เช่น 1. การบอกระยะทางว่า อยู่ห่างแค่ไหน เช่น         -  It’s about a mile from here.    (ประมาณหนึ่งไมล์จากตรงนี้) -  It’s about 200 meters from here.     (ประมาณสองร้อยเมตรจากตรงนี้) 2. บอกเส้นทางโดยใช้รถประจำทาง เช่น -  Take a number 21 bus. That will take you past museum. And then you get off at university.     (ขึ้นรถประจำทางหมายเลข 21 คุณจะผ่านพิพิธภัณฑ์ หลังจากนั้นให้คุณลงที่มหาวิทยาลัย)     3. บอกเส้นทางโดยให้เดินไป  เช่น           -  Go straight  ahead until you come to the traffic lights, then turn right.              (เดินตรงไปข้างหน้าจนถึงสัญญาณไฟจราจร  จากนั้นก็เลี้ยวขวา)           -  It’s about a ten-minute walk.              (เดินไปประมาณ 10 นาที)

4. บอกเส้นทางโดยใช้รถแท็กซี่  เช่น
          -  You can catch a taxi. It’ll take you there in 10 minutes.
              (คุณสามารถเรียกแท็กซี่ จะใช้เวลาเดินทาง 10 นาที)

คำศัพท์และสำนวนที่น่าสนใจเกี่ยวกับการบอกทิศทาง

ขึ้นรถ  =  take / catch / get on
ลงรถ  = get off
หมายเลขรถ = bus number..... / a number.....  Bus
ป้ายรถเมล์ = bus stop
ค่าโดยสาร = fare
เลี้ยวซ้าย = turn left
เลี้ยวขวา = turn right
ทางซ้าย = on the left
ทางขวา = on the right
ข้ามถนน = cross the road
เดินผ่าน = walk past / go past
ทางแยก = intersection / crossroads
สุดถนน = at the end of the road
ก่อนถึง = just before
เดินตรงไป = Go straight. / Go straight ahead. / Keep going straight. /  Walk along the road.
เดินไปเรื่อยๆ จนถึง... = Keep going until you get to…
เลี้ยวที่แยกแรก / แยกที่สอง = Take the first / second turn.
มันอยู่ใกล้กับ... = It’s near / close to…
มันไม่ไกลจากที่นี่ = It’s not far from here.
มันอยู่ห่างจากที่นี่ 3 กิโลเมตร = It’s 3 kilometers from here.
มันอยู่ห่างจากที่นี่ประมาณ 200 เมตร = It’s about 200 meters away from here.
